Notre Dame Football: Ranking Potential Bowl Game Opponents

Finally the biggest draw in the Big XII comes up on our breakdown.  Is Texas back?

Maybe the Cowboys aren’t quite where some want them to be at this stage of Mike Gundy’s career (15 years now at OSU already) but they’re still a top 25 team according to the College Football Playoff committee and have done enough to be viewed as an admirable foe.

Sitting at 4-3 after a home loss to Baylor in mid-October, Oklahoma State ran of four straight wins before falling at home last week to Oklahoma and dropping to 8-4.

This match-up is intruiging to me but one thing that would stink is that the Cowboys best receiver and one of the finest playmakers in the Big XII Tylan Wallace tore his ACL in October and is done for the year.

It may make the chances of a Notre Dame victory greater but in terms of an entertaining game it certainly takes away some of that fun.

Still though, this would be a pretty fun match-up and fortunately neither Thurman Thomas or Barry Sanders have any eligibility left.

How bad do we want it?  (1-10):  7.5.  It’s a program that carries cashe but not an overwhelming amount.  They’d be a tough opponent no doubt but when Oklahoma State shows up I think it does register slightly different in 18-22 year old males heads than would a Kansas State or Iowa State.  The only thing I don’t like is how much we’d have to hear about Mike Gundy’s dumb mullet for three hours, but I suppose we could all make it through that.
