Recruiting isn’t just about one decision and then the players signs, and Notre Dame has found out the hard way once again.
Alabama defensive lineman [autotag]CJ May[/autotag], who committed to the Irish in September of 2023 decided on Sunday evening that he needed to reevaluate his choice. The 6-foot, 4-inch and 225-pound edge rusher decommitted from the Notre Dame program.
It’s a significant loss, as May was ranked as the No. 19 edge and 253rd overall recruit according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is the second decommit of the cycle, following tight end Nate Roberts.
The good news is that Notre Dame will have plenty of time to fill his spot, as the early signing period is over 10 months away.
