Notre Dame football: Former Irish tight end signs $50 million deal

Pay Day for Cole!

They don’t call Notre Dame “Tight End U” for nothing.  For years the Irish have seen tight ends have their names called in the NFL draft and go on to have significant careers at the next level.  One such player just found generation wealth at that level.

Cole Kmet, a recent graduate of Notre Dame who last played for the Irish in 2019 inked a four-year contract extension with the Chicago Bears this week.  The deal is worth $50 million with $32 million of it guaranteed.

In three seasons Kmet has hauled in 138 receptions for 1,399 yards and nine touchdowns for the Bears.  Seven of those scores came last season as the Bears offense looks to take a significant step this fall.
