Notre Dame football blows out Navy as the Irish get win No. 7

The Irish dominated

Notre Dame football went into MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey and absolutely dominated the Navy Midshipmen, winning 51-14.

The Irish started the game off red-hot, as they scored on their opening possession, recovered a Navy fumble, then scored another touchdown three plays later to take an early 14-0 lead.

It was one that they’d never relinquish, as Notre Dame kept the gas on the pedal, scoring 31 points at the half, while allowing just 7. The Irish out-gained the Midshipmen 466-310, while winning the turnover battle 6-0.

The battle of the two ranked teams turned out to be extremely one-sided, as Notre Dame improved to 7-1, while Navy took its first loss of the season and now stands at 6-1.

Jeremiyah Love was the star of the game for the Irish on offense, rushing 12 times for 102-yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, there were three standouts for Notre Dame, as defensive end Junior Tuihalamaka, linebacker Jaylen Sneed and safety Adon Shuler each had at least 7 tackles.
