Notre Dame baseball improves to 2-0 in a nail biter against Stetson

2-0 is 2-0

If you were to look at Notre Dame’s opponent in their second game of the year, Stetson, you most likely would have thought the Irish would cruise to another easy victory. Well, that was not the case as the Hatters hung around but just couldn’t put together enough runs late. Link Jarrett’s team won 5-3, and improved to 2-0 early this season.

The Irish scored four of their runs in the fourth inning, breaking a 1-1 tie and that would be all of the scoring they could muster. It was catcher David LaManna with the games biggest blow, his two-run single in that inning helped the Irish score four.

John Michael Bertrand was magnificent, going six strong innings, striking out eight and allowing no walks. The run in the first was unearned.

The Irish finish out their first road trip of the year tomorrow, as they face Delaware at 9am EST.
