When you take away Navy possessions, they’re especially costly because of how so much of their game plan, specifically against more-talented teams like Notre Dame clearly is, is built on time of possession and limiting chances for their opponent.
That’s why turnovers are mega-killers when Navy commits them.
Khalid Kareem forced two fumbles early on and got Navy out of their game-plan offensively. He was also a force in the backfield all afternoon, making life tough on highly-regarded Navy quarterback Malcom Perry.
With the way Navy plays the fumbles for them almost feel like they should count as two forced-fumbles each just because of how extra-costly they are to a team that only throws a handful of times a game.
