Northeast Amateur Invitational: Bryce Lewis has three-stroke lead following first day

The 59th Northeast Amateur Invitational Golf Tournament is taking place at Wannamoisett Country Club in East Providence, Rhode Island.

University of Tennessee redshirt freshman Bryce Lewis (-6) is atop the leaderboard following Round 1.

Lewis has a three-shot lead over Tennessee senior Brayden Garrison (-3). Tennessee redshirt junior Hunter Wolcott is tied for fifth at -1.

Lewis is from Hendersonville High School in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He has appeared in 17 tournaments in two seasons for the Vols.

In 51 rounds, Lewis has totaled 3,657 strokes for an average of 71.71. His low-round is 65.

Lewis has three top-10 finishes and 11 top-25 results during his time with the Vols.
