North Carolina still sitting as a No. 2 seed in USA TODAY bracketology

Here is where the UNC basketball program stands in updated bracketology going into their game against NC State.

North Carolina is entering a stretch in which they will play three games in eight days to wrap up the 2023-24 ACC regular season. They enter the first game of that stretch against NC State on Saturday as the top team in the ACC, leading Duke by one game.

With the two teams set to meet on March 9th, they can’t look ahead and need to focus on the two matchups before that. For North Carolina, they are looking to finish strong as they are still chasing a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Going into this weekend, the Tar Heels are holding steady with a No. 2 seed in USA TODAY Sports’ latest Bracketology. Paul Myerberg, Erick Smith, Eddie Timanus have the Tar Heels as a No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region along with No. 1 Houston.

UConn and Purdue maintained their spots as a No. 1 seed while Tennessee has jumped up to that line with a win over Auburn this week. On the No. 2 line are the Tar Heels, Arizona, Iowa State and Marquette.
