No. 4 Notre Dame 12, Louisville 7: 5 Instant Takeaways

It wasn’t the prettiest of performances but it was good enough to get Notre Dame to 4-0 for the first time since 2018.

You know the old saying, “field goals are just four points you leave on the field”.

I don’t know if that’s actually an old saying but it should be.

Notre Dame not getting in the end zone in it’s first three trips to the red zone Saturday didn’t prove detrimental against Louisville but good luck surviving and advancing against the likes of Clemson, North Carolina or several others with that being the output.

The fake field goal right before halftime was also maddening.  To me, if you’re going to go for it then run a play with your actual offense and offensive line that you trust.

Yeesh.

It wasn’t pretty by any stretch of the imagination but it’s a lot better feeling than it could have been.

4-0 is still 4-0, no matter how unsatisfying it may have been.
