No. 4 Notre Dame 12, Louisville 7: 5 Instant Takeaways

It wasn’t the prettiest of performances but it was good enough to get Notre Dame to 4-0 for the first time since 2018.

Just how strange of an afternoon was it at Notre Dame Stadium?

Notre Dame led the vast majority of the afternoon, allowed just 234 yards off offense against and kept Louisville, who had been averaging 29 points per game entering Saturday to just seven points.

The Louisville offense couldn’t get things going all afternoon and had it not been for a missed assignment on a fourth down conversion in the third quarter, there is a great chance the Irish would have pitched a shutout for the second time in four tries this year.

It was far from perfect, offensive specific, but Clark Lea and the Notre Dame defense were in complete control of this game from the start.
