No. 3 Colorado drops low-scoring affair at No. 25 Oregon State

The Buffaloes’ typically high-scoring offense couldn’t get going in Corvallis

The Buffaloes have been a scoring machine for most of the year. In their losses, however, Colorado’s offense has been stuck in neutral. No. 25 Oregon State continued that trend on Friday as the Beavers held the No. 3 CU women’s basketball team to well below its scoring average in a 68-62 upset.

Colorado only hit 19 total shots from the field with the Beavers holding the Buffs to under 40% shooting. Oregon State was much more efficient from the field, going 25-for-52 (48.1%).

CU stayed in the game due to its success from the free-throw line, going 21-for-23. The Buffs got double-digit scoring outputs from Aaronette Vonleh, Frida Formann and Jaylyn Sherrod, who led the way with 19 points.

After a dominant stretch of games, Quay Miller had a rare down night as she could only muster four points on 1-of-7 shooting.

Miller and the Buffs fell to 16-3 (6-2 Pac-12) following their first true road loss of the season.

Colorado’s road trip continues on Sunday with the Buffs taking on the Oregon Ducks in Eugene at 1 p.m. MT (Pac-12 Network).
