No. 11 Texas has to feel comfortable with a 13-6 first half lead over No. 3 Alabama, but several opportunities were missed.
The Longhorns lost the ball a couple times in the first half, fortunate enough to have both go their way. Wide receiver Xavier Worthy dropped a touchdown pass and several sacks were missed.
However, quarterback Quinn Ewers has looked as focused and accurate as ever. He concluded the first half with 138 yards and one touchdown.
Texas also held Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe to just 80 yards and one interception with zero touchdowns.
Worthy more than made up for the drop in the first quarter with a 44-yd touchdown reception. He is Texas’ leading receiver at the half with five receptions for 75 yards and one touchdown.
