All eyes across college baseball will be on Austin, Texas this weekend for a top 10 matchup with major national implications.
No. 8 Oklahoma State (28-13, 10-5) will take on No. 10 Texas (31-13, 9-6) in a battle of star-studded teams.
Texas brings in a potent offensive attack that is leading the Big 12 conference in batting average, home runs and on-base percentage. The Longhorns offense is led by powerful first baseman Ivan Melendez. Melendez is hitting close to .400 on the season with the country’s best 21 home runs.
Oklahoma State enters with a lineup balanced from top-to-bottom. Left fielder Jake Thompson leads the Pokes with a .333 batting average and eight home runs.
Both teams feature an ace amongst the best in the country in Pete Hansen (Texas) and Justin Campbell (Oklahoma State). Runs will be at a premium in Friday night’s matchup against two All-American talents.
