Texas is in the mix for the nation’s top tight end prospect in the 2023 recruiting class.
Four-star tight end Luke Hasz announced the final eight schools left in his recruitment on Sunday. Texas made the cut alongside TCU, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Ohio State, LSU, Alabama and Oklahoma State.
Hasz is rated the No. 1 prospect at his position for the 2023 cycle and the top overall player from the state of Oklahoma according to 247Sports. Nationally, he lands at No. 40 overall.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound tight end is a two-sport athlete in football and basketball for Bixby High School. In 2020, he played both ways as a wide receiver and edge rusher as a sophomore. He concluded the season with 32 receptions for 703 yards and nine touchdowns.
Over the month of June, Hasz took unofficial visits to Oklahoma State, LSU and Alabama. The Longhorns originally extended an offer to Hasz on May 4, but Jeff Banks and Co. have plenty of time to make up ground.
At the moment, three 247Sports crystal ball predictions have been entered in favor of Oklahoma.
