Texas is still in the running for the No. 1 athlete in the 2023 recruiting class.
Five-star athlete Makai Lemon announced the top seven schools left in his recruitment on Thursday. Oklahoma, USC, Georgia, Michigan, Florida and Alabama were listed alongside Texas.
Lemon is rated the No. 2 prospect from California and the No. 12 recruit in the nation for the 2023 recruiting class according to 247Sports. The Los Alamitos High School standout played in all three phases as a freshman.

The Longhorns originally extended an offer to Lemon on May 12. He has compiled offers from numerous Power Five programs not included in his top seven, including LSU, Oregon, Penn State and Arkansas.
Lemon was named a MaxPreps 2020 preseason sophomore second-team All-American.
