Nick Saban was ranked the No. 1 Power Five college football coach by CBS Sports in May. Now, less than a month later, CBS Sports has also ranked him the best college football coach in the SEC.
While in Tuscaloosa, there’s no doubt that Nick Saban has not only created a dynasty, but he has become a legend.
His stats back it up:
- 7 SEC West Titles
- 6 SEC Championships
- 5 National Titles
- 29 first round draft picks
- 35 All-Americans
- 2 Heisman Trophy Winners
Those are just a FEW of the amazing stats that Saban has had while at Alabama. And CBS Sports agrees.
According to CBS Sports:
“Of course Saban is the top coach in the conference, and second place isn’t even close. Despite not having a national title since 2017, Saban boasts a 243-65-1 overall record, has six national championships and hasn’t finished worse than second in the SEC West since 2010. His LSU stint from 2000-04 brought the Tigers back into the national spotlight with conference titles in 2001 and 2003, with the ’03 season concluding in Saban’s first national title victory. It’s going to take a very long time — or Saban’s retirement — for any coach in the conference to match him.”
Although Alabama fell short last season of winning a national title, Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide are on a mission to prove that they’re truly the best team in the country, and that the dynasty is alive and well, and nowhere near dead or finished.
