NFLPA and Deshaun Watson vow to stand by suspension decision

In a statement released jointly, the NFLPA and Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson vowed to stand by any decision from retired federal judge Sue L. Robinson, and not appeal.

In anticipation of a decision from retired federal judge Sue L. Robinson, the NFLPA and Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson released a statement vowing to stand by any decision made by Judge Robinson.

In the statement, released Sunday night prior to the anticipated decision from Judge Robinson on Monday morning, Watson and the NFLPA outlined how they “have fully cooperated with every NFL inquiry and have provided the NFL with the most comprehensive set of information for any personal conduct policy:”

In addition, the NFLPA and Watson outline how “[e]very player, owner, business partner and stakeholder deserves to know that our process is legitimate and will not be tarnished based on the whims of the League office.”

Under the terms of the CBA the parties involved — either Watson and the NFLPA or the NFL — can appeal Judge Robinson’s decision to Commissioner Roger Goodell, who can make a “final and binding” ruling.

As reported earlier on Sunday, Judge Robinson has informed the parties that a decision on Watson’s case will be announced on Monday.
