The NFL will not be holding a supplemental draft this year, according to a memo sent out by the league Wednesday (via SI’s Albert Breer).
The supplemental draft usually happens over the summer, giving players who have since become ineligible to compete at the college level the opportunity to be selected by an NFL team, since the full seven-round draft has already taken place.
Most supplemental drafts come and go without any players being selected. In order to select a player, a team must forfeit their pick in the corresponding round of the next year’s NFL draft.
