The teams the Detroit Lions will play in 2021 are already known, even with the 17th game added. But we still don’t know the exact sequence and schedule of the games.

And we will have to wait a couple more weeks before we find out. ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed an earlier report from Ben Fischer of the Sports Business Journal that indicates the league will not release the schedule until after the 2021 NFL draft. The draft ends on May 1st after three days of selections, so the schedule won’t be known until at least the first week of May.
In past years, it was customary to have the schedule released before the draft. That changed in 2020, and the league apparently liked the later release date and the associated hoopla that goes with the schedule release.
