NFL Week 13: DFS bargains, prop bets, and trusting the Eagles’ running game

Week 12 was smooth sailing. Can Week 13 avoid another rash of upsets?

Week 13 opened not with a bang, but with a Taysom Hill start at quarterback.

New Orleans’ favorite tight end/upback/running back/quarterback stepped into the starting lineup for Thursday Night Football, banged up his throwing hand in the first quarter, and then threw passes downfield with the accuracy of someone trying desperately to sink their friend’s Battleship. The result was a three-interception day that still somehow ended in 20+ fantasy points thanks to Hill’s ability to run and a nifty garbage time run-after-catch from Deonte Harris.

That helped get the Dallas Cowboys back on track after a 1-3 November. The Pittsburgh Steelers (0-2-1 in their last three), Los Angeles Chargers (2-4 since a 4-1 start) and Los Angeles Rams (0-3 since October) are all hoping to follow their lead. They’ll each face varying degrees of difficulty as they make the turn into the final third of the 2021 regular season.

Week 13 features some marquee matchups — Patriots-Bills on Monday night! — a few games that will ultimately decide the playoff order, and one matchup that will conjure up fond memories of Denny Green. Let’s see if we can find some value there.
