NFL standings, Week 16: All 4 AFC South teams lose

The Jaguars are fortunate that no AFC South team had a good Christmas Eve.

The Jacksonville Jaguars got an early Christmas present when the rest of their division fell flat on their face Sunday.

The Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans — who entered the weekend in a three-way tie with the Jaguars for the division lead — lost to the Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns, respectively.

But Jacksonville followed suit with an embarrassing, blowout loss of its own against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. For another week, all three teams in the AFC South remain tied.

The Jaguars got help elsewhere in the AFC too with the Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos both dropping games that would’ve put the pressure on in the wild card race. Still, none of that will matter if the Jaguars can’t pull out of their tailspin.
