NFL skipping international games in 2020

With the league schedule set to be released this week, the NFL has decided to skip the international series this season due to COVID-19.

The NFL will officially release its full 2020 schedule on Thursday night, and while we’ll have to wait and see when and where teams will be playing this season, we do know one thing — there will be no international games this season.

With the coronavirus pandemic impacting sports and life around the world, the NFL has made the decision to keep all games in the United States this year, skipping the international series.

It is disappointing news for the NFL, certainly, given that they have enjoyed expanding their reach to other countries over the years. However, it is the right decision to make given the current state of things.

Last season, the Bucs had to play the Carolina Panthers in London in Week 6, part of a brutal five-game stretch away from Raymond James Stadium. Thankfully, this season, they won’t have to deal with travel across the pond.
