NFL Scouting Combine: Former Vol records second fastest speed among running backs

A former Tennessee running back records the second fastest 40-yard dash speed among running backs at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine.

The 2022 NFL Scouting Combine is taking place March 1-7 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Former Vol Ty Chandler recorded the second fastest 40-yard speed among running backs.

Chandler was clocked at 4.38 seconds in the 40-yard dash. Running backs D’Vonte Price (FIU) and Kenny Walker III (Michigan State) also recorded a time of 4.38 seconds.

Isiah Pacheco (Rutgers) and Pierre Strong (South Dakota State) had the fastest times of 4.37 seconds.

Chandler played for Tennessee from 2017-20, appearing in 46 games for the Vols. He totaled 2,046 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.

The 6-foot, 210-pound running back recorded 58 receptions for 465 yards and three touchdowns. He also had one kickoff return touchdown at Tennessee.

Chandler transferred to North Carolina for the 2021 season. He started 13 games for the Tar Heels, totaling 1,092 rushing yards, 13 rushing touchdowns, 15 receptions, 216 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.
