NFL players will be fined nearly 15K for COVID-19 violations

A COVID-19 violation will cost NFL players nearly 15K in the upcoming season

NFL players who make the choice not to get vaccinated and test positive for COVID-19 in the 2021 season will pay a price.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians revealed the cost in an interview with Tampabay.com. And it will be stiff no matter how much you make.

Per Tampabay.com:

…  In the meantime, he says he will fine any unvaccinated player $14,000 on the spot for every time he isn’t wearing a mask or is breaking a protocol.

“A vaccinated player will get tested 14 times this year,” Arians said. “An unvaccinated player will get tested 140.”

ESPN followed the report and was able to get it confirmed.

“NFL policy,” Arians told ESPN in a text message. “League rules.”

League spokesperson Brian McCarthy confirmed to ESPN that Arians “was correct” in his understanding of the NFL’s rule.

And it seems some players are still willing to risk a fine … or possibly a forfeit.
