NFL players react to Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes’ contract extension

NFL players reacted to Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes’ record-breaking extension on Twitter.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has become the highest-paid player in NFL history — also the highest-paid player in the history of professional sports — after agreeing to terms on a 10-year contract extension worth $503 million. The extension is set to keep him in Kansas City through 2031.

His teammates are ecstatic for him and so are the players that he competes against. They know he just reset the market for not just the quarterback position, but also any player that can complement or compete against that position at a high level. He’s breaking new grounds and will transform how the top players in the league are paid for years to come.

Mahomes’ teammates and peers in the NFL took to Twitter to react to his new contract extension. They all had nothing but good things to say about Mahomes. Check it out:

It looks like the Landlord might be trying to collect some rent money from his own teammate.

While Mahomes’ receivers are clearly very happy for him.

Not a single player in Kansas City seems to believe that Mahomes isn’t worth it.

Even Mahomes’ former teammates are excited about his massive payday.

And those who’ve played against him know that he deserves this contract.

Some opponents are hoping their teammates will now get theirs.

Others are lamenting the past while they wait for a payday of their own.

Some are considering a career change.

While others talk about training the next generation.

Others are happy to see a fellow Black man succeed.

I think we’re all probably fantasizing a bit about what he’ll do with all that money.
