NFL “not planning” to move the start of the league year amid concerns for the coronavirus

NFL says the league year will begin as scheduled

The NFL has taken precautions to protect their personnel and players amid concerns over the coronavirus, but according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, the new league year will start on schedule.

The NFL’s window for free agents to start negotiations with select teams is scheduled to open at noon Eastern on Monday. Free-agent visits to facilities were *not* permitted until 4 p.m. Wednesday, but that likely will happen remotely now.

Teams like the Eagles, Giants, Redskins, Cowboys, and others have taken the measures of pulling scouts, coaches and executives off the pro day circuit, for now, choosing to work and prepare for the NFL from home.

As of now, the draft is still scheduled to go off as plan, but the NFL’s league meetings are likely to be postponed if not canceled.
