NFL insider Adam Schefter confident Chiefs will get deal done with Chris Jones

Adam Schefter’s comments on “The Pat McAfee Show” should be music to #Chiefs fans’ ears.

Though the Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 1 loss against the Detroit Lions was a less-than-ideal way to start the 2023 season, one NFL insider seems confident that the team can get one of its biggest stars back in the coming weeks.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter commented on the Chiefs’ ongoing negotiations with defensive lineman Chris Jones in an appearance on the popular Pat McAfee Show that seemed more optimistic than other recent reports.

“It doesn’t matter what anybody says,” Schefter said. “Chris Jones, at some point, is going to get this deal done, and it’s probably going to be rather quick and sudden whether that’s today, tomorrow, next week, next month, whenever. All the talk about being apart… You can close the gap pretty quick.”

Kansas City is set to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2 action on Sunday without the help of its All-Pro pass rusher. With some luck, fans may not have to wait long to see Jones back on the field.
