NFL fans roasted Carson Wentz after he threw a red-zone interception on a shovel pass

So, that happened.

While Carson Wentz’s debut as Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback ended in a loss to the Seahawks in Week 1, he put together a decent individual game with no turnovers — a major issue for him in 2020 with the Eagles.

The same couldn’t be said for Week 2’s matchup against the Rams. Of course, Wentz found a way to make his first interception with the Colts awfully memorable.

He somehow managed to throw an interception on a shovel pass.

On third and goal from the 3-yard line, Wentz rolled right and instead of taking a hit, he lobbed a shovel pass into a crowded area around the line of scrimmage. The pass looked like it was supposed to be for Jack Doyle, but really, it was the easiest interception Troy Reeder will ever have. Interceptions on shovel passes are apparently possible.
