Booger McFarland was part of Saturday’s broadcast of the first NFL wild-card game of the playoffs, and football Twitter was less than thrilled.
The ESPN commentator isn’t a fan favorite and is somewhat regularly roasted for his blunders (by fans and even players, like Stefon Diggs and Davante Adams). Late in 2019, McFarland’s penchant for painfully obvious comments and analysis developed into a great meme, which has since taken off and is the first big sports meme of 2020. (It’s basically just often fake but super obvious statements jokingly attributed to McFarland.)
So of course, that continued into Saturday’s wild-card matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans.
Not only were fans annoyed, and even straight-up angry, that McFarland was part of the game’s broadcast, but they also continued roasting him for his not-quite-insightful commentary. The Booger meme continues…

Booger saying the Texans “have to put the ball in Watson’s hands.” He’s the quarterback, Boog. He literally has the ball in his hands EVERY offensive play. Man he’s bad. #BoogerMcFarland
