NFL fans are roasting Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni after his introductory press conference

Whew.

The Nick Sirianni era in Philadelphia is off to an absolutely hilarious start.

The Eagles’ new head coach held his introductory press conference on Friday and took lots of questions from reporters. One of his answers, though, is absolutely getting him roasted by NFL fans.

He was outlining his plan about how to make the Eagles better and telling reporters what was important to him. Then, all of a sudden, he began talking about systems. And he just wouldn’t stop. It was all about systems. The systems. Systems.

It was like he started the sentence and had no idea where it was going, but he kept rolling with it. And then, all of a sudden, we have a first class meme.

This was great.

“Next thing that’s very important to me is that we build a smart football team. That we have a smart football team here, and I know we have the people in place to do that. The first part of being smart is knowing what to do. We’re going to…we’re going to know…we’re going to have systems in place that are easier to learn. Alright, complicated to the defense or offense that they’re going against, or the special teams group they’re going against, but easy for us to learn. Because when we can learn our system, and we can get good at our system, then our talent can take over.”

Just classic coach speak from Sirianni here. Absolutely classic. He said everything, really, just to say absolutely nothing besides the fact that the Eagles will have, uh, systems in place. For things. And it’ll work. Or, well, it should.

NFL fans had a lot of fun with that.

Poor Sirianni. What an introductory press conference.

To be fair to him, none of this really matters. He doesn’t have to be a great public speaker to be a great head coach. He might just…not be the greatest at this part of the job. And that’s OK!

But on the other hand, to be fair to his players, they’re pretty smart already. This didn’t really seem to be something that really needed explaining. No idea.

Either way, though, this is some pretty great content.
