Where does Raiders WR Davante Adams rank among the top receivers in the NFL?

In a recent article by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, he asked over 50 NFL executives, coaches, and decision-makers to rank their top ten wide receivers in the league going into the 2023 season.

Last year, Adams was voted as the No. 1 receiver on the list. But this year, he comes in at No. 2, only behind Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings. Here is what Fowler had to say about the All-Pro receiver of the Raiders:

Adams, last year’s No. 1, did absolutely nothing to relinquish his crown. Despite leaving quarterback Aaron Rodgers for Derek Carr and Jarrett Stidham in Las Vegas, he posted a near-career-high tally in yards (1,516) and led the NFL in touchdowns for the second time in three seasons (14).

He became the NFL’s first wide receiver to earn first-team All-Pro honors for multiple franchises over back-to-back years. When picking one player to break down a cornerback to get open, Adams is still the top choice for many.

What was the most interesting about this list was that one NFL executive ranked Adams as the No. 9 receiver in the league. Considering Adams is coming off another 1,500-yard season with double-digit touchdowns, we will assume that it’s just a rival exec that is jealous. There is no way to justify Adams as anything but a top-three receiver in the league.

Can Adams replicate his numbers with Jimmy Garoppolo throwing him the ball instead of Derek Carr? That is one of the biggest questions surrounding the Raiders going into the season. But if history tells us anything, it’s that Davante Adams is going to be just fine.
