San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan has an offense deemed “QB-friendly” that emphasizes the run opening the passing game, plenty of play action and shorter routes to develop deeper passes. All of this is right up Sam Ehlinger’s alley.
The 49ers own the third overall pick in the draft and are going to take a quarterback, with the question of what will happen to current starter Jimmy Garropollo. It should be noted that Shanahan was coaching in Washington when they picked RGIII second overall in the 2011 NFL Draft and took Kirk Cousins in the fourth round of the same draft. So, don’t be too surprised if Shanahan deals Jimmy G and doubles-down on drafting two quarterbacks since it worked well before.
