NFL Draft Analyst claims Alabama’s light draft class is not cause for concern

No draft records will be broken by Alabama this year, but that shouldn’t lead to panic.

With the NFL and college football seasons having both concluded, football fans and experts have turned their focus to the upcoming 2022 NFL draft. The Crimson Tide and the program’s former players are no strangers to the annual draft, as the first round is usually loaded with Nick Saban products.

Though Alabama fans have grown accustomed to seeing former players take over the first round, this year’s draft is expected to see only two, potentially three, players selected on night No. 1.

Pro Football Focus’ lead draft analyst Mike Renner states that this will probably be the lightest Crimson Tide draft class in recent years. Renner continued to explain how this is likely an outlier, and not the beginning of a trend.

As a guest on The Next Round Live, Renner discussed the players entering the 2022 draft representing Alabama and where they stand.

No, Alabama won’t be breaking any record this year, but the team will still likely see over five players selected within the first three or four rounds.
