7.  Patriots Trading Down Tradition Continues

When the Patriots traded down Thursday night the football world reacted as if it was the least surprising thing of all-time.  However, that was actually the first time since 2013 that New England traded their first round pick.  The Patriots did however do it seven times between 2003 and 2013.  What isn’t surprising to find out is that it works out well for the Patriots more often than not.

8.  Offensive Tackle Love – And Tons of It!

Of the first 32 picks in Thursday’s first round, six selections were offensive tackles.  Six corners and six wide receivers also went in round one but how much quicker tackles went off the board is eye-popping.  Five of the first 18 picks Thursday were of offensive tackles while three of the first 20 were receivers.  There were also three corners off the board when the tackle count got to five, with two of the final three first round picks being of the corner position.
