NFL announces Chicago Bears’ 2020 training camp schedule

The Bears will report in full to Halas Hall for training camp on Tuesday, July 28.

The NFL announced the official training camp report dates for all 32 teams on Saturday.

The Chicago Bears will report in full to Halas Hall on Tuesday, July 28, although rookies, quarterbacks and injured players will be able to return a few days before.

Here’s a look at the schedule for report dates:

  • Tuesday, July 21 – All rookies report
  • Thursday, July 23 – Quarterbacks and injured players report
  • Tuesday July 28 – All other players report

The NFL also sent out the following memo to teams regarding the safety protocols in place, as well as the expectation that a full regular season, postseason and Super Bowl will be played. Given these safety protocols are followed.

“NFL clubs met today via videoconference and received an update on preparations for the 2020 season. We will continue to implement the health and safety protocols developed jointly with the NFLPA, and based on the advice of leading medical experts, including review by the CDC. We will address additional issues in a cooperative way. All decisions will be made in an effort to put us in position to play a full regular season and postseason culminating with the Super Bowl which is the shared goal of the clubs and the players.”

There are plenty of storylines to watch heading into training camp, including the quarterback competition between Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles. There are also three vacant starting jobs up for grabs at cornerback, safety and right guard.

While this offseason has been entirely virtual, Trubisky has been organizing offseason workouts with skill position players in the Chicago area. But it won’t be long now before the entire team meets in Lake Forest for the start of the 2020 season.
