NFL analyst believes the Bears are Super Bowl contenders if they trade for Carson Wentz

Bart Scott says the Bears would be Super Bowl contenders with Carson Wentz

The Carson Wentz trade rumors are still in full flow and one former NFL linebacker turned analyst is all in on the Bears acquiring the Eagles disgruntled quarterback.

Bart Scott was a guest on ESPN’s ‘Get Up’ and was asked about the Bears playoff chances if they acquired Carson Wentz.

The former Ravens and Jets linebacker went beyond the playoffs, proclaiming the Bears Super Bowl contenders with Wentz.

“I mean I know Wentz [didn’t have] the best season last year, but come on… Mitchell Trubisky?” Scott said on ESPN’s “Get Up!” on Monday morning. “This is great upgrade. You think about what he was. He’s a guy that was sacked 50 times. We saw Patrick Mahomes become a mere mortal when he didn’t have protection, but that’s exactly what Carson Wentz had to endure in Philadelphia.

“This is a team that got old, went all in for a championship. They won the championship and everyone around him got old… I mean he’s trying to throw to DeSean Jackson who’s like a Ferrari — yea, it’s beautiful, but the check engine light is always on. So, you think about, if he goes to Chicago, that makes Chicago, I believe, a Super Bowl contender.”

2017 form or not, Wentz would need Allen Robinson and a host of other weapons offense to truly morph into a Super Bowl contender, but crazier things have happened and it would be so 2021.
