Newly-elected College Football Hall of Famer and former Buff Michael Westbrook honored

Colorado’s newest member of the College Football Hall of Fame will be recognized at halftime.

In recognition of former Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver Michael Westbrook’s induction to the College Football Hall of Fame, the 1995 graduate was honored following the first quarter of Saturday’s USC game.

Westbrook, who was inducted into the CU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016, is a member of the 2020 College Football Hall of Fame class that will be inducted Dec. 7 in Las Vegas.

Westbrook joined coach Bill McCartney, Byron White, Joe Romig, Bobby Anderson, Dick Anderson, Alfred Williams John Wooten and Herb Orvis as other Buffaloes in the CFB Hall of Fame.

During his time at Colorado, he was a two-time first-team All American and All-Big Eight performer. He caught 167 passes for 2,548 yards at CU.

Perhaps the play Westbrook is most known for is his 67-yard hail mary reception from Kordell Stewart in Colorado’s “Miracle at Michigan” game in 1994.
