The BLUE JAYS (-160) are a solid play as moderate favorites, but it won’t be as easy as Toronto would prefer.
King pitched well for the Yankees (+135) last time out, as he whiffed a career-high 13 batters in his most recent start, which just happened to be against the Jays. Gausman struck out a dozen on the other side in that game.
Run line/Against the spread
The YANKEES +1.5 (-160) aren’t priced out of line if you can’t pick New York straight up, but you would like a little bit of insurance.
Again, King racked up plenty of strikeouts, and he turned in a quality start in a head-to-head matchup with Gausman last Wednesday. This should be a game too close for comfort, as far as the Jays are concerned. I expect them to win, but the Yankees are going to give them a run for their money, even if they are eliminated already.
Over/Under
The UNDER 7 (+100) is a super low number, but it’s worth a look. Gausman hasn’t allowed much at home this season. And the last time King and Gausman went against each other 6 days ago, both of these hurlers went deep into the game, turning in quality starts in a well-pitched game. This is worth playing lightly.
