The New York Giants (1-1) and New York Jets (2-0) meet at MetLife Stadium Saturday in Week 3 of the preseason. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (NFL Network). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Giants vs. Jets odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.
The Giants beat the visiting Detroit Lions 14-3 in their preseason opener Aug. 8, covering as 3.5-point favorites. New York then took a trip to Houston and was clobbered 28-10 by the Texans Aug. 17, failing to cover as a 1.5-point underdog. Giants expected starting QB Daniel Jones struggled against the Texans, throwing 2 interceptions and finishing with a 45.4 passer rating. New York is 1-1 against the spread (ATS) and 0-2 O/U.
The Jets opened their trio of preseason games with a 20-17 home win against the Washington Commanders Aug. 10, covering as 3-point underdogs. They then went to the Carolina Panthers and won 15-12 Aug. 17, again covering as 1.5-point underdogs. New York is 2-0 ATS and 1-1 O/U. Given QB Aaron Rodgers‘ previous injury history, he hasn’t played much as the Jets have been led by QB Adrian Martinez for the bulk of the preseason.

Giants at Jets picks and predictions
Prediction
Jets 17, Giants 13
Moneyline
BET JETS (+115).
The Giants aren’t expected to play their starters in the preseason finale, and the Jets have done a good job at beating up on teams that are without their top tier of weapons. Martinez has played well for the Jets as well, going for north of 160 yards in both preseason games combined.
New York’s strength is in its defense, which allowed just 61 passing yards in its Week 2 battle with the Panthers. It has allowed 29 points through 2 preseason games. The Giants have scored just 24. Neither backup for the Giants has shown much, and without the starters, New York will heavily rely on those few signal-callers who have yet to really move the ball in the preseason.
Considering the Jets are 2-0 and at home, back them to come out on top. Take JETS (+115).
Against the spread
PASS.
Given the Jets are the preferred play here, take them on the moneyline at the better odds. Avoid the Giants, who are expected to rest most of their starters Saturday.
Over/Under
BET UNDER 31.5 (-110).
The Giants just have not scored frequently in the preseason, totaling 24 points. In their first game, they went for just 95 passing yards. In their second, they went for 205, but 138 of those were from Jones, who isn’t expected to play. The Giants are 0-2 O/U.
The Jets are 1-1 O/U. They scored 20 points in their opener and 15 in Week 2 while allowing 17 and 12, respectively, in those games. New York doesn’t have a consistent quarterback option, either, and may struggle to move the ball, as it did against Carolina.
Without the starters, don’t expect much scoring. Back UNDER 31.5 (-110).
