New Titans HC Brian Callahan expected to call plays

New Titans head coach Brian Callahan is expected to call the plays on offense.

Now that the Tennessee Titans have reportedly found their offensive-minded head coach to replace Mike Vrabel, many are wondering whether or not Brian Callahan will call the plays on offense.

Callahan did not have that role during his days as the offensive coordinator with the Cincinnati Bengals, but he did have a big hand in game-planning.

In addition, Callahan was also in the ear of Bengals head coach and play-caller, Zac Taylor, during games and had input on a play-by-play basis.

But things will be different in Nashville, as NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Callahan is expected to call the plays with the Titans.

“My understanding is (Callahan) will call the plays in Tennessee,” Pelissero said.

This is great news for the Titans, as now they don’t have to worry about their play-caller getting poached if the offense has a good season. That was something that happened twice during the Mike Vrabel era.
