New mock draft with trades has Cardinals keeping 16th pick, selecting CB

Despite the movement of other teams, the Cardinals stand pat at No. 16 and take CB Jaycee Horn.

There has been movement at the top of the draft recently, as there were two big trades. However, that doesn’t seem to change things for the Arizona Cardinals, who hold the No. 16 overall pick in the draft.

Draft Wire managing editor Luke Easterling released a new mock draft that includes trades,

The Cardinals do not make any deals to either move up or back, so they stay with the 16th pick.

The selection in this mock draft is no surprise. They take South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn, a common selection in many mock drafts for the Cardinals.

Offensive line is a possibility here, but after losing Patrick Peterson, the best combination of need and value for the Cards is at corner. Horn has a fantastic combination of size, length, athleticism and ball skills, and he knows how to use them all to their fullest extent. If he’s still on the board at this point, after the film he put out and the pro day workout he had, he’d be a slam dunk for Arizona.

Horn might not be available, considering the value of a top cornerback with good tape and great athletic testing numbers.

Cornerback Caleb Farley is still available as well, but his recent back surgery might scare the Cardinals away, despite what Farley said about the injury recently.

Horn seems like a great and safe pick, provided he is available. The Cardinals need talent at cornerback still and Horn is a good one. He should be able to make an impact even as a rookie.
