Allen gets the nod in the second end of the back-to-back. He has dropped 3 straight starts, allowing 12 goals on 74 shots in the span. That includes a 4-2 loss at Columbus Dec. 19, allowing 3 goals on just 19 shots.

Tokarski expected to make his third start for the Hurricanes. After allowing just a single goal on 28 shots in a win in his team debut Dec. 15, he was trampled for 4 goals on 24 shots in a 5-2 loss in Nashville last time out Monday.
