Former Alabama quarterback Mac Jones was the final quarterback drafted in the first round. He was selected by the New England Patriots at No. 15 overall and has not stopped making headlines since long before the draft process began.
This time, he’s in the news because of his jersey number.
While most of his former teammates that are now in the NFL have been given their respective jersey numbers, Jones has not.
Waiting this long is not atypical of the Patriots, but it’s still funny to see.
In a recent picture, Jones was spotted wearing No. 50. However, that number is not one quarterbacks are permitted to wear under the new, expanded number rule. This number would be available to Jones if he was a linebacker, offensive lineman or defensive lineman.
