The New England Patriots (2-7) travel to the Windy City in Week 10 to face the Chicago Bears (4-4). Kickoff Sunday at Soldier Field is scheduled for 1  p.m. ET (FOX). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds around the Patriots vs. Bears odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

Fans will be treated to a clash of rookie QBs who’ve shown mixed results in their first regulation action, despite being dual-threat offensive talents. The host signal-caller, Caleb Williams, is looking to stop Chicago’s 2-game slide since a Week 7 bye; one of those losses being the embarrassing loss via Hail Mary to the Washington Commanders and fellow first-year slinger Jayden Daniels.

Meanwhile, Drake Maye-led New England lost 20-17 to the Tennessee Titans in Week 9, and the rookie threw 2 INTs, his first since Week 7. Even with his flaws, the Patriots enjoy more offensive upside with him under center.

Patriots at Bears picks and predictions

Prediction

Patriots 21, Bears 17

Moneyline

Taking the value in New England in an otherwise evenly matched game has a basis behind it, but I was hoping for (+300) vig for the visitors. It’s a decent wager, but not enough for me to strongly recommend it.

PASS.

Against the spread

The Bears rank above .500 against the spread at 4-3-1, while the Patriots sit at a below-average 3-5-1.

Trends aside, the Bears -6 spread without the hook offers a ripe opportunity to fade the home squad.

Even if Chicago were to win by a TD in overtime, betting the Patriots ATS would at least nab players a push. Though the Bears defense ranks among the top options in the league, Maye should do enough to keep pace with fellow error-prone rookie Williams.

BET PATRIOTS +6 (-110).

Over/Under

New England’s top-shelf defense, but lack of offensive playmakers fuel this total, which is well within the range of expectations.

Given that my score prediction lands at 38 combined points, I will be avoiding the O/U 38.5 (-110) juice on either side.

PASS.
