Michigan State Football fans eager to see the team in action soon might want to start getting their green and white gear ready… According to reports, the Big Ten could be voting on a hastened football restart this weekend after new coronavirus testing procedures have become available.
On Friday, it was reported by ESPN that new COVID-19 testing methods have been discovered that could “allow teams to test daily and significantly decrease the amount of necessary contact tracing.”
According to multiple reports, including Nicole Auerbach of The Athletic and Tyler J. Davis of the Detroit Free Press, the Big Ten’s medical subcommittee presented multiple rapid-response antigen tests on Saturday to eight of the league’s 14 presidents. The medical subcommittee is made up of athletic directors and doctors.
According to David Jesse of the Detroit Free Press, the Big Ten will meet again on Sunday to review the presentation. There could be a vote on a restart at that time, but we’ll have to wait and see.
