New Buffs WR coach Phil McGeoghan preaches aggressive approach to recruiting

New Buffs WR coach Phil McGeoghan has already been an aggressive recruiter

National Signing Day came and went for college football.

On Wednesday, Karl Dorrell and his new assistant coaches discussed the Buffs’ future after a whirlwind of offseason roster shakeups. One of those assistants that spoke was Phil McGeoghan, CU’s new wide receivers coach.

McGeoghan, who has a ton of experience at the NFL level, spoke about the Buffs’ aggressive approach at recruiting the wide receiver position. With McGeoghan’s eye-popping experience and demeanor, a lot of players should have an interest in coming to Boulder.

Henry Chisholm of DNVR pointed out that McGeoghan and the Buffs have already offered many of the top 2023 wide receivers.

Led by the No. 3 2023 WR in the nation and five-star prospect Carnell Tate, they’ve also offered No. 11 Braylon James, No. 18 Kyler Kasper, No. 20 Adarius Redmond, No. 22 Rico Flores and No. 23 Ashton Cozart, per 247Sports.

McGeoghan’s approach is a breath of fresh air for Buff fans, especially after losing a ton of talent across the entire roster over the past couple of months.

Times are changing in Boulder, although it might take some time for everything to be put into place. Nonetheless, McGeoghan’s approach could be huge for Colorado.
