The Nevada Wolf Pack return to action on Tuesday night as they travel to Albuquerque to take on the New Mexico Lobos.

This is the second contest of the regular season between Lobos and the Wolf Pack. In the first meeting between these schools in Reno, the Wolf Pack routed the Lobos 96-74. In that win over New Mexico, Wolf Pack head coach Steve Alford earned his 600 win as a collegiate head coach. Now he travels back to Albuquerque where he used to coach the Lobos from 2007 until 2013.

Nevada’s last game was five days ago when they took on the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels in Las Vegas. In that contest, Jalen Harris was stellar once again as he scored 29 points as the Wolf Pack outlasted the Rebels in overtime 82-79 for Nevada’s sixth straight victory over the Rebels.

The Wolf Pack are coming into this game on Tuesday against a Lobos team that have lost their most recent contest against UNLV 78-73 on Saturday. The loss to the Rebels was New Mexico’s second straight loss and their fifth loss in their last six games. The Lobos do have a balanced offensive attack as four of their players are averaging ten or more points per game this season. The Lobos are a very good offensive team that has been inconsistent during conference play.

The Wolf Pack are looking to complete the season sweep of New Mexico and stay tied for third place in the Mountain West standings. The Lobos are looking to get back on track as they hope to defeat the Wolf Pack in Steve Alford’s return to The Pit.

It should be an interesting and competitive contest in Albuquerque on Tuesday night between the Wolf Pack and the Lobos.
