Nets upset LeBron James, Lakers with 104-102 win in Los Angeles

Spencer Dinwiddie and company were tested frequently in Los Angeles, but the Brooklyn Nets still found a way to knock off the Lakers.

Nothing was going to faze Spencer Dinwiddie in the Brooklyn Nets’ game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. Not even a pair of questionable offensive foul calls against the Nets point guard late in his return home.

With the game on the line and the score all knotted up at 102-102, Dinwiddie drilled a mid-range jumper on Brooklyn’s finals possession to give the Nets a 104-102 lead.

The Nets would then stop the Lakers on the other end of the floor, but Los Angeles got another crack when Anthony Davis took a 3-pointer for the win. But he couldn’t knock it down as Brooklyn secured its third win in a row, fourth in the last five games.

Jacque Vaughn is now 2-0 as Nets head coach. Brooklyn has won its last two games by a combined total of five points.

Dinwiddie’s game-winning bucket brought his point total to a team-high 23 on 7-for-17 shooting (1-for-4 from deep, 8-for-8 at the free-throw line). He also had seven assists.

Caris LeVert hit a big shot down the stretch in his 22-point performance, too. He went 8-for-20 from the floor (3-for-8 from three) and grabbed seven boards.

Joe Harris scored an efficient 12 points. He went 5-for-8 from the floor and 2-for-4 from deep.

The only other two Nets to finish in double figures were Chris Chiozza (11) and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot (13).

DeAndre Jordan led the Nets in rebounding with 12 boards.
