Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is arguably the best payer in the game as he continues to put on a scoring rampage every time he steps on the floor. Standing at nearly 7-feet tall with a ridiculous wingspan, he has elite touch on his jumper and he can finish against anybody. He is the perfect scorer.
Philadelphia 76ers star big man Joel Embiid is arguably the best center in the game as he is able to do a lot of similar things out on the floor. The big fella can work in the post, he can get to the line, he finishes in the paint, and he can shoot it with range. There is a lot that he can do.
The two of them have a lot of respect for each other, as they mentioned in their previous matchup back in December, and as the Nets prepare to take on the Sixers on Thursday, Durant has a lot of praise for Embiid.
Durant said:
When you see somebody that you admire or respect and kind of see the growth and you’re old enough to see Joel come in and and watch him grow from being on a bad team and building that group to where it is right now. So we was able to see that and to see his game grow, you can appreciate that as a fan and then when you play against it, he’s gonna make you step up to another two. So it’s a fun dynamic, but it’s a (expletive) to play again. He tough to deal with.
He’s really unstoppable. He said something where he was like ‘I can transform from like Kobe, to Hakeem, to Shaq to a couple other players’ and I was like, Yo you telling the truth because I feel like he could play all spots on the floor, be effective from everywhere, and big body.

It will be interesting to see how Embiid and the Sixers defend Durant and the Nets on Thursday as Brooklyn will have both Durant and Kyrie Irving available. On the flip side, Brooklyn will have a tough time defending Embiid as well.
