Nets sign Lance Thomas as substitute player for Disney bubble

Lance Thomas is getting another shot with the Brooklyn Nets organization.

Lance Thomas is once again part of the Nets organization.

Brooklyn announced the forward signed to play with the franchise for the remainder of the 2019-20 season on Tuesday.

Thomas was with the Nets at the very beginning of 2019-20 for training camp, and he was among those who were ultimately cut ahead of the start of the regular season.

Thomas is the fourth substitute player the Nets have signed ahead of the Disney bubble — Michael Beasley, Jamal Crawford and Donta Hall being the other three. The Nets also signed Tyler Johnson, though he was not designated as a replacement player, given he took Theo Pinson’s place on the roster after the guard was waived.

Thomas has been in the league since 2011-12, though he has yet to play in an NBA game this season. He last played for the New York Knicks in 2018-19, whom he had been with since the middle of 2014-15.

The 6-foot-8 forward has averaged 5.2 points and 2.6 rebounds per game throughout his career while playing 18.4 minutes a night.
